Be prepared

You know, as much as you think about storms coming this way, you are never adequately prepared when they do. I have been dismissing Hanna over the last few days, thinking it would be way south of us. All of a sudden I have to think about provisioning and extended loss of power. Not worried about storm surge unless it falls east of us. Watching the satellites tonight, we may in for some trouble here. Latest forecasts push the storm north of Wilmington, so time for a hurricane party. Hee hee. We may be in line for a number of hurricane parties if Ike and Josephine hang around. Ike I am particularly worried about. I am in the flood zone, so hoping for the best.... Moving the car to higher ground tomorrow night. Hope I can report all is well.

Hanna will pass by, do some minor damage and leave some water. Preparing for Hanna.... Most of my sailor friends have completely stripped their sails and biminis and taken everything of importance off the boat. I have made plans to move my car and some of my furniture to a safe place. Good grief, too old to worry about my house and belongings. If I don't talk to you guys for days on end, I have no power. Will report when I can get back online. Ike will follow and is the killer storm. It is currently headed in the pattern to affect our coast with sustained winds at this time of 170 mph. We will likely be evacuated for that. Wondering where I will go.... Ahhh the September days.
